Odisha Police Gurkha Sepoy Recruitment 2025 – Apply Now

The Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP), 2nd Battalion based in Jharsuguda, has released the official notification for the recruitment of 135 Gurkha Sepoy posts. Applications must be submitted offline in the prescribed format via postal mail by 10 September 2025. The recruitment test will commence from 17 September 2025.

Nationality: Must be bona fide Gurkha male candidates from India or Nepal.
- Indian Gurkhas must provide a Residential Certificate (from DM/ADM/Tahasildar) and a bonafide Gurkha certificate from a recognized organization.
- Nepalese Gurkhas must have valid Nepalese citizenship.
Educational Qualification: Minimum Class VII (7th) pass; candidates with HSC (12th) qualifications will be given preference.
Age Limit (as on 01 Jan 2025):
- Minimum 18 years
- Maximum 25 years
- Age relaxation applicable for ex-servicemen as per rules.

Physical Measurements & Tests
- Height, weight, chest measurements with scoring based on physical stature.
- Physical Efficiency Tests:
  - 1.6 km run (qualify by 4–6 minutes)
  - 5 km cross-country (within 40 minutes)
  - Broad Jump (3.66 m) and High Jump (1.22 m) with scoring on first/second clearance.
- Athletic achievements in recognized sports may earn extra marks.
Viva-Voce Test: Interview round; full marks = 10.
Odia Language Test: Exempted initially; however, must pass within 3 years of service.
