The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the official notification CEN No. 05/2025 for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (JE) in various departments across Indian Railways.
A total of 2569 vacancies have been announced for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Other Engineering branches.
Eligible candidates can apply online from 31 October 2025 to 30 November 2025 through their respective regional RRB websites.

RRB JE Exam Pattern 2025

The selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT – I)
  2. Computer Based Test (CBT – II)
  3. Document Verification & Medical Examination

Stage I – CBT (Computer Based Test – I)

Important Points:

 

  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • Negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer.
  • The marks of CBT-I are qualifying in nature (not counted for final merit).

  • Basic concepts and principles of Physics & Chemistry (Up to 10th/12th standard)

3. Basics of Computers and Applications

  • Computer Architecture, Input/Output devices
  • Operating Systems, Internet, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Networking, Email, Web Browsers

4. Basics of Environment and Pollution Control

  • Environment basics, Pollution types and control measures
  • Waste Management, Global Warming, Climate Change
  • Air, Water, Soil Pollution and preventive measures

5. Technical Abilities

  • Based on the Engineering discipline selected by the candidate (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, etc.)
    • Civil Engineering: Building Materials, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, Hydraulics
    • Mechanical Engineering: Thermodynamics, Machine Design, Fluid Mechanics, Production Engineering, Strength of Materials
    • Electrical Engineering: Circuits, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Control Systems, Utilization of Electrical Energy

7-Day Preparation Plan for RRB JE Exam 2025

Revise Mathematics basics (Percentages, Ratio, Speed, Time, Distance, Simple & Compound Interest).
