Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2026 for 1,748 posts across various engineering disciplines and departments. Online applications are open from 2 September 2026 and the last date to apply is 22 September 2026.

Junior Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) Diploma or Degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) from a recognized institution
Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts) Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering + 3 years experience in quantity surveying
Scientific Assistant Diploma or Degree in relevant Engineering/Science discipline

Age Limit (as on 1 August 2026)

  • Environmental engineering, wastewater treatment

For Mechanical Engineering:

  • Fluid mechanics, turbomachinery
  • Machine design, vibration analysis
  • Manufacturing processes, quality control
  • Industrial engineering, operations research

For Electrical Engineering:

💰 Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in Level-6 (Group ‘B’) pay matrix:indiatoday+1

Component Details
Pay Scale ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 per month
Grade Pay As per 7th CPC Level-6
Allowances DA, HRA, TA, Medical, etc. (as per government rules)
Gross Salary Approximately ₹50,000 – ₹65,000 per month (initial)

  2. Click on One-Time Registration (OTR) if not already registered
  3. Complete registration with required details (if new user)
  4. Login using registration number and password
  5. Go to “Apply” section
  6. Select “Junior Engineer Examination 2026”
  7. Fill in personal, educational, and contact details
  8. Select post preferences and examination centers
  9. Upload required documents:
    • Live photograph (via webcam/mobile app)
    • Scanned signature (prescribed format)
  10. Pay application fee (₹100/-) via:
    • BHIM UPI
    • Net Banking
    • Credit/Debit Card
  11. Review all details carefully
  12. Submit the application
  13. Download and save the confirmation page

Note: Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt from application fee
